▶Objectives
Increased digital literacy rates: We wanted to see a measurable improvement in the participants' ability to confidently and effectively use digital technologies for everyday tasks, learning, and civic engagement. This wasn't just about knowing how to turn on a computer, but about understanding online safety, navigating information, and utilising various digital tools.
▶Activities
Needs Assessment through Focus Groups: Right from the outset, we conducted focus groups with various segments of the community we aimed to serve. These sessions were invaluable in understanding the specific digital challenges, needs, and learning preferences of different demographics. Co-design and Feedback through Operational demonstration Workshops: As the project progressed, we held operational demonstration workshops involving project team members, volunteers, and potentially even early participants. We implemented interactive workshops. We understood that digital literacy is best acquired through active participation and hands-on experience. By creating engaging and supportive learning environments, we aimed to empower our participants not just with knowledge, but also with the confidence to navigate the digital world effectively. These interactive sessions were truly where the learning came alive!
▶Impact
A comprehensive online toolkit: Hosted on Moodle and accessible in five partner languages, this toolkit served as a central base of learning materials, activities, and assessment tools specifically designed for educators. It empowered them to effectively deliver digital literacy training within their own contexts, ensuring the project's reach and impact extended beyond our direct workshops. A dedicated project website: This served as a public-facing platform to disseminate information about the project's goals, activities, partners, and achievements. Active social media accounts: We established and maintained social media accounts across relevant platforms to further amplify our message, share success stories, disseminate resources, and engage with the community. This digital presence allowed us to reach a broader audience and foster ongoing dialogue around digital citizenship. https://digitalcitizenshipeducation.eu/moodle//
