Citeuropass wanted to raise awareness among European students about European citizenship by making them work together on projects that support Europe’s goal of reducing its carbon footprint. To achieve this, the partner team developed a playful and collaborative teaching method. It aimed to engage students in both European citizenship and frugal innovation. Our objectives were to create interactive tools (serious games, educational resources, prototypes) that allow students to experience citizenship, lower their carbon footprint, and work together across borders. By exploring the concept of citizenship in the European context, we wanted to better understand it. We also aimed to assess how European students perceive, live and experience daily what Europe offers to its citizens. It quickly became clear that it was important to deepen the understanding of European citizenship first. The results are meant to be shared with universities, researchers and European citizens.
