The HydroEurope project aimed to transform water engineering in Europe by achieving several key objectives: Innovative educational resources: Development of teaching units focused on flash floods and pollution, adaptable to the master's programs of participating higher education institutions. Problem-based learning: Promotion of a pedagogy centered on real European case studies, encouraging critical thinking and hands-on experience. Engineer skill development: Training engineers in modeling, risk analysis, and sustainable water management. Collaboration and knowledge sharing: Fostering cooperation among higher education institutions, professionals, and other stakeholders to drive educational innovation. Internationalization and digitalization: Creating resources suited for virtual teaching and collaborative online engineering. Sustainability and adoption: Integrating content into master’s programs and making resources widely accessible for broader uptake. Awareness and preparedness: Raising community awareness of water-related risks and enhancing their resilience. HydroEurope aimed to build a skilled and collaborative community for managing water-related risks across Europe.
