Objectives

Games for Goals aimed to support innovative teaching of global citizenship and sustainable development in primary education in Europe. We therefore sought to contribute to improving the sustainable development skills of primary school teachers by preparing them to become agents of change, particularly through the development of interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and self-reflection, as well as through the design of new resources for their use. In other words, Games for Goals aimed to improve the capacity of primary school teachers in Europe to integrate Education for Citizenship, International Solidarity, and Sustainable Development (ECSI-SD) into their activities. Its ultimate goal is to contribute to building a better world by empowering teachers to better inspire action and behavioral changes in their students. Specifically, our objective was to develop innovative teaching resources, facilitate their use, and increase their visibility. Games for Goals also aimed to provide opportunities for the exchange of practices around teachers' action towards the SDGs in Europe.

Activities

We structured our action around three main components: - the creation of a catalog of innovative educational resources available across Europe and structured around the SDGs; - the design of three new fun activities on global citizenship and sustainable development (educational games) around themes selected by a panel of primary school teachers from different partner countries. The prototypes were developed during international and multidisciplinary student mobility programs, and the first versions were tested directly with students and teachers before being finalised. - methodological support for teachers to enrich their educational practices, notably through the co-construction of a tool aimed at supporting the integration of innovative methods in primary schools. In addition, communication, capitalization, and dissemination activities were carried out in the various partner countries.
