Objectives

The implementation of the project aimed to modernize the vocational teaching of the electrical engineering department by creating a practicum (collection of exercises) on the topic of photovoltaic systems that will be used in teaching. It was important that the exercises were based on practical work and the modular principle - that they connect different levels of knowledge and skills and different vocational subjects. This results in higher quality vocational education for students and easier adoption of learning outcomes. The aim was to provide teachers with professional training, exchange of good practice and monitoring of modern trends in the profession, and institutions to establish various partner collaborations, strengthen management skills and better quality vocational education.

Activities

The main activity of the project was the creation of a collection of exercises Photovoltaic systems. Different types of project team meetings, learning and teaching activities were realized: lectures, workshops, practical work. In addition to live meetings, members of the project teams also met online in order to better realize the project's goals. As part of the activities, the project teams visited various institutions and companies dealing with renewable energy sources. Teachers are provided with expert lectures on the topic of the project. The students participated in the testing of the practicum - laboratory and workshop exercises where the effectiveness of the created exercises was examined. Field classes, workshops and lectures on the topic of renewable energy sources are organized for the students. During the entire project cycle, dissemination and evaluation activities were carried out.

Impact

A collection of tasks (practicum) Photovoltaic systems for teaching electrical engineering was created in Croatian and Slovenian. Practicum is an open educational content that consists of learning outcomes, exercises, a list of required materials, instructions for teachers and other relevant information. Two versions of the racks for the photovoltaic module used in the exercises were made. Accompanying documentation was created for them - 3D drawings, an elaboration and a lesson for teaching mechanical constructions. In addition, two English language teaching lessons were created with the topics of renewable resources and solar energy to improve students' language skills. The project logo and the project website were created. The website contains general information about the project and partners, descriptions of implemented activities, project results, dissemination materials and other relevant information. Good cooperation between schools continued and new cooperations with different institutions and companies were established. Students are provided with practical work at school and the acquisition of specific professional skills, while teachers have excellent experience in project work, skill development and lifelong learning.
