▶Objectives
During the implementation—based on the evaluation of the application—we deviated slightly from our original objectives, which primarily aimed to prepare an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project on the same topic. The planned goals remained the same (preparing individuals for aging; preparing families to support elderly relatives; establishing services that support the elderly and their families; promoting communication and cooperation between existing sectors and services; positively influencing the negative perception associated with aging as a life event and stage); however, we shifted the focus to enhancing the immediate effectiveness of the current project. Therefore, while we completed the originally planned feasibility study, we also produced the proposed online publications that summarize the training experiences, support their adaptation, and present research findings and best practices that can generate positive processes for the target group and their families. These publications not only strengthen the effectiveness of the current project but also provide long-term support for the target group and their families, helping them face the challenges of aging with greater preparedness.
▶Activities
We conducted a survey to assess training needs related to aging among older adults (495 responses), professionals (73 responses), and relatives (174 responses). The questionnaire and the summarized results are available on our website. We developed three training materials: one for professionals, one for older adults, and one for relatives. We implemented these training programs: in-person sessions for older adults (15 participants), residential training for professionals (9 participants), and online sessions for relatives (13 participants). We evaluated the training programs with pre- and post-surveys, summarizing the insights. We issued two newsletters, established partnerships (E-seniors, UNord, University of Cyprus, and Iceland University), and organized two multiplier events (Újbuda and Esztergom). We collected and published best practices on our website, conducted two in-person partner meetings and several online meetings. We completed a feasibility study for the next project and a methodological study on elderly education.
▶Impact
We conducted comprehensive surveys with 495 older adults, 73 professionals, and 174 relatives to assess their training needs related to aging. The questionnaire and summarized study are available on our website. We developed three specialized training materials tailored for professionals, older adults, and relatives. Implementation of training Programs: Older Adults Delivered in-person training sessions for 15 participants, spanning multiple sessions. Professional: Conducted a residential training program for 9 professionals. Relatives: Provided an online training format for 13 participants. We evaluated the trainings using pre- and post-surveys, and we gathered insights to refine future programs. We published two newsletters to engage stakeholders and inform them about our progress. Organized two multiplier events in Újbuda and Esztergom, reaching a broad audience. We initiated partnerships with potential collaborators, including E-seniors, UNord, University of Cyprus, and Iceland University. We collected and published best practices on elderly education on our website. Completed a feasibility study for the next project phase and developed a methodological guide on elderly education.
