Objectives Youth need to feel and be safe for exploring their interests, or expressing their opinions. Without safety no learning, development can happen (Maslow). Settings that do not provide safety, this basic need, will not be effective. Youth workers need to offer physically, emotionally, mentally safe environment to develop skills, to socialise with peers and adults, discover their unique identity.
