SSPICE IT! project intended to: - raise awareness among educators and learners of the centrality that sustainability has assumed also in the food sector and the implications of this in terms of new skills required at different professional levels; - update and adapt VET courses in the food and catering sector to the changed labour market scenario, introducing training modules and learning moments centred on the acquisition of green and digital skills, as well as of entrepreneurial skills; - facilitate the assessment and recognition of acquired competences through the use of an innovative assessment tool that enables a more comprehensive assessment of acquired skills through the use of gamification; - foster the experimentation of innovative sustainable practices in the management of VET centres; - create a community of practice that fosters stable cooperation between VET centres, research centres, enterprises, agencies/authorities responsible for programming and agencies/authorities responsible for curriculum planning and updating; -provide guidelines to VET providers and planning authorities on how to update VET curricula with modules and learning moments aimed at the acquisition of green and digital skills required in the sector

The 7 partners of the SSPICE IT! project, representing the world of vocational training, research, and business of 6 different EU countries worked together over 28 months to: - Develop a comprehensive training programme on sustainability to develop green, digital and entrepreneurship skills of future operators/entrepreneurs of the food/catering sector. The training programme was successfully implemented in 5 VET centres, in 4 EU countries; - Develop and test a game-based assessment tool (app) to assess and self-assess green, digital, and entrepreneurship skills of learners; - Create a community of practices involving key stakeholders in the food/catering sector and organise webinars and meetings on specific aspects of sustainability that have implications for the catering/food sector; - Organise learning mobilities, both for groups of students who went to visit VET centres in other countries and for teachers who met for a common training session; - Produce guidelines on how to integrate sustainability modules into VET courses for local and national authorities responsible for the definition of VET courses as well as other VET providers.

- A comparative analysis report and a matrix depicting the skills gaps and the key competencies needed in the food and hospitality sector in terms of sustainability, digitalization and entrepreneurship. - A comprehensive Training programme about sustainability in the food and catering sector. It contains Manuals both for students and teachers, articulated in 7 modules + 1 final exercise, available in 7 languages (EN, ES, FR, GR, IT, PT, RO). It is also available in the form of 24 individual lessons, that can be included in VET programmes. - An innovative, game-based assessment tool that facilitates the self-assessment of green, digital and entrepreneurial competences, their recognition and validation. It contains an Open Badge certification system to provide formal recognition of acquired skills. The app is available in 7 languages (EN, ES, FR, GR, IT, PT, RO). - A community of practices on the future of competences in the food and catering sector, involving VET centres, enterprises, research centres on sustainability and entrepreneurial skills and authorities responsible for planning VET courses. - Guidelines on how to integrate sustainability modules in VET courses, available in 7 languages (EN, ES, FR, GR, IT, PT, RO).
