▶Objectives
In line with Goal 4 of the 2030 Agenda to promote continuous learning opportunities for all and ensure equal access to all, the project aimed at creating a flexible and adaptable ART BRUT LEARNING WORKSHOP at EU level, with the ambition to systematize an innovative training offer with perspectives also of job opportunities. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES of the project were: • Improve and extend the provision of high-quality learning opportunities tailored to the needs of adults with psychic and social disadvantage, training staff of social and health services about art-based learning and therapeutic activities • Develop skills related to artistic production within the services for patients with mental disabilities, through the experimentation of the "artistic residences" model and promoting their lifelong learning • Promote the social inclusion of psychiatric patients through the development of technical-artistic, social and transversal skills. • Enhance Art Brut and Outsider art, both through individual artists and through collective public art events, with the involvement of the Community to face the issue of "social danger" in an open way and to build and share relationships • Create an EU network of organizations, educators and artists
▶Activities
To achieve the project objectives, Pain the change consortium implemented the following activities: • Design of the Training course about ART Brut, organized in general guideline and 3 units: 1) audiovisual reproduction, 2) clay and wooden sculptures, 3) painting, 4) Papier-mache (including 3 video tutorials) • Organization of a transnational training in Italy for STAFF who work with adult people with mental disabilities, to be prepared for the implementation of a local workshop of ART BRUT in 3 countries • The realization of an “itinerant event workshop” in the formula of the artistic residency for adults with mental disabilities, including 3 mobilities of learners, in Spain, Italy and Turkey • The realization of social entertainment events in the local communities • The dissemination of the brand ARTBRUT22 to sell their products of artists with mental disabilities (project learners).
▶Impact
Results reached in the project were: • Increasement of educators and learners’ knowledges and skills in Art Brut and Outsider art, to face the issue of "social danger" in an open way and to build and share relationships. • The creation of a European network between organizations educators active in therapeutic training in art brut as a tool for expression, prevention of segregation and discrimination linked to the vulnerability of learners. Concrete outputs were: • 1 local workshops guideline for educators • 1 transnational training for staff • 3 learning mobilities of learners realized • Local events realized to present the artistic creations to the local communities, promoting social inclusion of people with mental disabilities • 1 Eu catalogue of art brut creations published under ARTBRUT22 brand
