▶Objectives
The project aims to build a network of schools, their stakeholders and local institutions to help construct a European school space able to prepare for increasingly GREEN jobs. The approach used by the partner schools is based on an innovative action-oriented pedagogy to allow learners to develop knowledge and awareness and to work towards transforming today's society into a more sustainable one. The companies supporting the project become allies of the school to bring in new motivated and trained young people and thus initiate real change from yourself. The students from the four schools experience sustainable development in action by creating collections with up-cycling through a global approach while using a new pedagogy which is the establishment of a "MOTHER" COMPANY following the creative process. Consequently learning environments can be created in which students learn what they live and experience what they learn. The cooperation among schools, students, teachers and participating organizations was intended to foster opportunities for young people to empower each other through knowledge, skills, values and transformative attitudes.
▶Activities
The activities implemented in the project are as follows: -After the KICK OFF MEETING the partner schools have internally organized the class involvement procedures and set up the project as a system activity; - they identified a "MOTHER" COMPANY that supported the students and teachers in the educational process; - they followed the training of the classes involved with a series of remote lessons/pills coordinated together by the Liceo Chierici school on the topic of green skills applied to planning and design; - they designed and created a collection of upcycling clothes, accessories and jewelry; - they created two FINAL FASHION SHOWS IN LYON AND REGGIO EMILIA in the presence of companies, associations and fashion districts; - research centers, and educational institutions got involved and interested in understanding the European project; - schools implemented teacher and student mobility in new teaching contexts; - they produced a video with digital stories of both the design process and the fashion show, distributed by the platforms of the institutional entities involved. The actions carried out were "focused" on permanent, formal and non-formal learning in contexts extended to the corporate world.
▶Impact
The concrete OUTPUTS and RESULTS of the project were: - the realization of more than 80 CLOTHES, ACCESSORIES (bags and jewelry) by more than 150 students from the High School Chierici (Italy),the High School Paul Poiret and the High School Octave Feuillet (France), ESSDM Secondary school (Spain) where students were able to ‘in situ’ experiment the theoretical learning acquired by giving space to their creativity in REAL contexts; - an effective cooperation among schools and companies through the establishment of a DIRECTOR'S CABIN of companies’ patrons that closely followed the creative artistic process of the classes of students involved and ensured the acquisition of the basic skills on the project theme; - SHARING OF EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES ON SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH REPEATED MEETINGS, first online and then with TWO SHOWS in Lyon and Reggio Emilia; - the PRODUCTION OF VIDEOS AND DIGITAL PRESENTATIONS that narrated the creative process and/or the fashion show of upcycling clothes and accessories (jewelry and bags); - the awareness from the schools involved that it is possible to CHANGE THE WAY we teach in a GREEN way.
