Objectives

The MENTOR+ project had a clear set of objectives aimed at improving teleworking conditions for both employees and employers. At its core, the project sought to enhance teleworkers’ understanding and awareness of their overall well-being. This included increasing knowledge and promoting positive habits related to physical activity, mental health, and nutrition. The development of the MENTOR+ Web App was central to these efforts, providing a user-friendly, multilingual platform to deliver personalized guidance and support. For employers, the project aimed to offer tools and frameworks to help them adapt their organizational policies and management practices to better address the health and safety needs of remote workers. Additionally, MENTOR+ aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among OSH stakeholders, creating a transnational network of professionals and organizations committed to innovation and the exchange of best practices. Ultimately, the project aspired to achieve a healthier, more sustainable work-life balance for teleworkers and to contribute to the overall productivity and resilience of remote working environments.

Activities

The MENTOR+ project was implemented through a series of well-planned activities designed to meet its objectives. It began with extensive research aimed at identifying best practices and assessing the needs of teleworkers and employers, forming the basis for the co-creation of the MENTOR+ Well-Being Program, a comprehensive framework designed to address the physical, mental, and nutritional health challenges faced by teleworkers. Using a co-designed approach, which actively engaged stakeholders (employers, teleworkers, and OSH experts), the MENTOR+ Web App was developed as the primary tool to deliver the well-being program. The app provided tailored exercises, mental health resources, and nutritional guidance to help teleworkers adopt healthier routines. Extensive pilot testing across various sectors and countries refined the app's content and functionality, ensuring usability and effectiveness. To raise awareness and promote the program’s adoption, MENTOR+ implemented a comprehensive dissemination strategy, including webinars, workshops, and promotional campaigns. These efforts enhanced the project's visibility and facilitated engagement with employers, health professionals, policymakers, and other stakeholders across Europe.

Impact

The MENTOR+ project successfully achieved its objectives, delivering impactful results to enhance teleworker well-being. A key output was the MENTOR+ Well-Being Program, a comprehensive, science-based framework addressing physical, mental, and nutritional health. This program was integrated into the multilingual MENTOR+ Web App, providing teleworkers with practical tools to maintain their health and well-being. The app was piloted across different industries and countries, with users’ feedback informing improvements to its design and adaptability to different teleworking contexts. The project also established a transnational network of stakeholders, including health professionals, OSH experts, employers, and teleworkers, fostering collaboration and ensuring long-term sustainability of the project’s impact. Dissemination activities, such as targeted webinars and workshops, amplified the project’s reach, raising awareness about teleworker well-being and influencing organizational practices across Europe. The project not only met all its original objectives but also exceeded expectations in terms of stakeholder engagement and the scalability of its solutions for broader application.
