Objectives

The project strived to achieve the goal of fulfilling the existing void of solid, professionally prepared Multilingual Car Mechanics E-Pictionary in 6 languages of Europe. The team's objective was to contribute to a better quality of training, life-long learning of young car mechanics and car mechanics and who are already active in the labor market. The educational establishments of this Partnership and the network of other schools in corresponding countries benefited to a large extent from acquiring such a database of normed terms and professional vocabulary in national languages. As a result of this Project's achievement the whole network of the car mechanic sector in the EU has obtained excellent digital content which can be used by teaching professionals, learners of different ages and stages of qualification, and other individuals within the profession. The team of creators also benefited professionally as they were able to invest their expertise into an Intellectual Output that is of interest to many in the transport sector in their respective countries and beyond. Also, in the process of work professional skills of the international teams involved increased greatly.

Activities

The activities included 2 major parts: 1. translation work - preparing thcontent of www.carpictionary.eu in 6 national languages of the partnership (EE, SI, ES, FR, DE, LT). The content of the previously created www.carpictionary.eu institutes 6 main content parts of car mechanics, car electronics and car body parts of vocabulary in the English language that are supported by a photographed image of the particular car part or bigger unit: Car body, Car electronics, Chassis and more, Engine, Tools and Transmission. 2. preparing IT coverage of the 6 national languages clone platforms online that would be easily interchangeable from language to language. The IT technicians created Word press platforms for the 6 national teams, also implemented design, the interface and search engines within every national platform that respond to search words in national languages. Also, this activity covered SEO of the Multilingual Car Mechanics E-Pictionary. The project was constantly monitored, peer-reviewed and tested in order to ensure high quality standards. Project dissemination and MCME promotion events took place in Multiplier live events and online in all 6 countries and advertising on media outlets and social networks was carried out.

Impact

The project resulted in a vast digital database of car mechanics terms available on internet platforms: https://carpictionary.at/; https://carpictionary.lt/ ; https://carpictionary.fr/ ; https://carpictionary.ee/ ; https://carpictionary.si/ 7000 Pictionary items each. Every car mechanics term is associated with a real-life car part/ car component or car diagnostics and repair tool photo. To increase clarity for the user and help identify small car parts, additionally, a name of a major car part related to the smaller one is often provided for items. Also, the MCME platforms are appealing, user-friendly, searchable by keywords, and free of charge to use. The platforms have enabled Accessibility features. The fonts can be enlarged, zoomed in or out. The Pictionary items gallery is available not only in general mode but in searching for an MCME item of interest. Predeceasing and following items can easily be viewed and selected. Moreover, the 6 platforms are easily switchable from language to language, which enhances the multilingualism of car mechanics. The platforms serve as an online practical tool for VET and the labor market on any electronic device. It is also adjusted to distant learning and lifelong learning purposes
