Objectives

The main goal of the Project was to promote the importance of rural tourism (and appropriate education models) with the main focus on the authenticity of the coffee culture at each societal level in the participating countries. The emphasis was on coffee as a tourism product, and its huge potential to beneficiary to the tourism industry. The specific objectives of the project were: SO1: The project aimed to develop a structured learning program (Module 1: Theory and organization of work, and Module 2: Practice)and training materials for 15 low-skilled candidates (with fewer opportunities) in the field of the coffee industry and hospitality. SO2: The project intended to train 15 low-skilled candidates with fewer opportunities in the field of the coffee, and the coffee beverage industry, through structured trainings using a modular approach. SO3: The project sought to develop a Digital Platform to be used by networking coffee and beverage specialists – Baristas who are in the learning process. SO4: The project aimed to develop a Handbook with information for Social Partners and Policy makers (dissemination) – whose content offered knowledge, skills, and competencies for the preparation and serving of coffee (form, concept, way).

Activities

Besides intellectual outputs, the Project implemented the following activities: - Three transnational meetings were organized in three different countries (one in person and two online). - Two learning activities/blended activities were organized in two different countries (Turkey and Slovenia). - Three Multiplier Events were organized in each of the countries of the participating organizations (one in person and two online). There was a clear synergy and dependency between all project results. Also, while not initially outlined in the Project Application, we took the initiative and we created a comprehensive visual identity for the project. This included designing a logo along with a complete set of creative materials such as letterheads, ID badges, roll banners, notebooks, pens, and PowerPoint presentations. In these materials, the logos of Erasmus, the Macedonian National Agency, and the three project partners are prominently featured alongside the Barista logo. Where necessary, we incorporated disclaimers. This additional effort significantly enhanced the visibility and recognition of the project. To enhance visibility and dissemination, dedicated Facebook and Instagram pages were established for the project.

Impact

INTELLECTUAL OUTPUTS: - Theory Learning program (Curriculum) for Barista (Module 1 - Basic Level) was developed. - Practical training program (Curriculum) for Barista (Module 2) was created. - Training Materials for Barista Education (Module 1, Module 2) were developed. - Handbook for new Baristas and Policy Makers in Sustainable Tourism was produced. - Digital Platform - 'All about coffee' was created. The project had huge potential to make changes in the well-being of the members of the local communities. The participants of the project (young people with lower skills, candidates who had fewer opportunities) came mostly from rural areas of their country and were trained in a professional manner, obtaining specific qualifications and opportunities for employment due to the qualifications gained during the training. Additionally, the coffee promotion aimed at attract tourists who were more satisfied, with the aim to increase overnight stays, and boosting local economy. In addition, the participants of the project had perfect communication and cooperation through which they realized the cultural similarities and differences, connected with each other and learned about the traditions and customs of each country.
