Objectives

Biomed+ wanted to support new career paths for youths in the biomedical industry, particularly focusing on microbiota segment. Thanks to the project Biomed+ it was possible to acquire information and data on the microbiota segment; design solutions to strengthen the set of skills and competences required by the industry ; facilitate the youths’ uptake of a career in the industry;; explore further means of cooperation.

Activities

During the project the 7 envisaged activities were completed, namely 'Desk research to assess the different legislation on FMT and Microbiota' Review on success of FMT, particularly through desk research on existing publications Building a survey for stakeholders, particularly economic operators and target group (youths) Conducting a survey with stakeholders and target group Training content development Erasmus Opportunities for future development, consisting in a focus on how erasmus could further support the cooperation between the parties on microbiota and related issues Testing Training, consisting in an event for youths and students held in Siena

Impact

The project has achieved the following results: - Compiled a comparative assessment of the legislation regulating FMT in different countries - Compiled a review of the state of the art of research - Designed 2 surveys: one for stakeholders and one for students aged 19/25 - Delivered the survey to 41 students out of which 26 completed it - Delivery of survey through one-to-one interviews to 8 key stakeholders - Elaboration of a presentation and a report on Erasmus opportunities for further cooperation - Design of training content and delivery of the content during an event in Siena attended by 39 participants
