Summary

We would like to achieve a new method of coaching for people who are suffering from post covid. We intend to develop a new guidance method that could well be applicable in this situations and used by coaches because we needed customized coaching.

Objectives

The outcome will be that employers can continue to benefit from the labour potential that is present on the labour market (despite their limitations) in this tight labour market. It enables the worker/employee to continue to matter in his/her working existence and stay included in social life.

Activities

Our method was work based because we have a lot of experience in coaching people in their work life. First we did research as well as in Austria as in the Netherlands. Therefore we had (video) meetings to share the facts en figures about post covid. Than we were trained by several experts and expanded our knowledge about work life balance and post covid. After that we developed courses and a method to coach our post covid candidates. We have already given several courses for the target groups and improved the training during the time. We shared our courses and method with BEST and trained several coaches from BEST. Based on this BEST gave us feedback and recommendations which we have incorporated in our final report.

Impact

We developed a specific approach: an online information meeting, a transition training, a specialized intake interview and we developed tools that benefits and supports in the coaching. BEST en Menea added these output to their services. These products are summarised in powerpoint presentations. It is based on initial research performed in Austria and the Netherlands following some questions raised by coaching experts at Menea to help develop the coaching method (Summary reports to links on research and knowledge about long Covid are developed – status 2022 with updates 2024) The coaching for long Covid patients also builds on expert trainings providing medical knowledge and physical issues to consider long Covid patients may encounter A list of recommendations has been gathered as core aspects that differ from other coaching.
