Objectives

This project had two objectives: A. Build capacity of 2811 and Stichting TechnoTrend (STT) to be able to work transnationally and increase the quality of their work; B. Meet the needs of the VET education sector regarding sustainability. In both Germany and the Netherlands VET has the obligation to integrate sustainability in their curricula. In this project we have focused on VET institutes who offer fashion as a field of study. We support them via developing an online Climate Action Academy including a Young Climathon.

Activities

Activities that lead to the objectives A1. Professionalization activity for staff who are involved or will be involved in transnational project. Focus is on how to behave (cultural codes), what steps to take (international project management) and how to include (local, national and international) partners. B1. Development of online Climate Action Academy; B2. Implementation of online Climate Action Academy; B3. Creation of a guide of good practices for VET institutes with examples on how to integrate sustainability in their curricula; B4. Adjust and carry out Young Climathon transnationally with Dutch and German VET Institutes who offer fashion education.

Impact

Results: 1. Sustainable fashion changemakers methodological toolkit for teachers of VET institutes in the Netherlands and Germany based on the methodology of the Climate Action Academy; 2. Compilation of good practices of environmental youth-oriented VET schools for VET schools in Europe; 3. Integration of good practices shared among teachers, students, entrepreneurs and local market players in the fashion industry through a developed of a Young Climathon in Sustainable Fashion at the end of the project.
