Objectives

The main goal of the project is for students to solve their problems themselves with the power of natural friendship through the peer counseling method. During the project, many responsibilities were given to the student, including managing social media accounts. With the project, we aimed to solve the student problems that we had identified in the partner schools by using the Peer Counseling method, within 15 months, with 12 volunteer students we chose through Sociometry and individual interviews. While the language development, self-confidence, helpfulness, socialization, problem solving and coping skills of our peer counselors who participated in the project increased, school students had the experience of solving problems that seriously affect their lives.

Activities

*Mobilities -(Peer Counseling) A 20 hours Peer Counseling Course was given by a psychologist to 48 volunteer students determined by sociometry. The training of peer counselors included basic helping skills and the application of these skills. Ethical rules, basic principles, the role of the peer counselor, the methods and techniques of peer counseling were discussed practically in a multicultural environment by allocating peer counseling to the first mobility as it forms the basis of the project. -(Future Employement Anxiety) We aimed to help our students solve their future anxiety problems with the Peer counseling method, by enabling our students to get to know themselves and their environment and determine their professional goals in line with their interests and abilities. -(Effective use of Technology) It was aimed that this problem is at a universal level and that it has come to light under the conditions of the pandemic, that there are similar problems in every country and that common solutions to these problems are produced. -(Bullying) In peer counseling with drama method, peer bullying were evaluated and immediate supervision will be made. In this way, peer counselors had the chance to see their shortcomings immediately.
