▶Objectives
The main objective of the project was an effective and innovative approach to stimulating students to learn to their full potential, strengthening their self-esteem and increasing their meaningful participation in the community, regardless of their physical, cultural, social and geographical conditions. The task of the project was also to increase the skills and knowledge of teachers in this area, deepening the ways of relationships and communication with students. The most basic goal we wanted to achieve was the ability to communicate use a common language (English) to achieve the goals. However, improving language skills and the ability to communicate was one of the objectives. The second was to work on raising participants’ own value, understanding needs and expectations, as well as identifying strengths and working on elements that need improvement. This was the basis of motivation to act. We also wanted to acquire the ability to organize one's own activities with respect for the capabilities of our body, mind, i.e. generally understood well-being. By achieving the previous goals we could enhance creative action, which was based on good communication, knowledge of one's own and others' capabilities and limitations.
▶Activities
During the project, students and teachers were engaged in local and international activities. They participated in mobilities to partner countries: Poland, Romania and Portugal and undertook activities aimed at using the knowledge and skills acquired during meetings, trainings and other joint activities. Activities developed the three aspects necessary to succeed at school and beyond: effective communication, personal development and motivation and creativity. We succeeded in eight different activities during the project. The first one was aimed at getting to know partner schools, their countries and basic information necessary to successfully communicate between students and teachers. Then the participants took part in 6 activities concerning visits and post-mobility activities in local schools as well as between participants themselves: What is good communication? We can communicate well Me and my personal development I know who I am - my way to success Introduction to creativity I motivate and I am creative The last activity called “Our mutual success“ was a joint activity during which participating schools summarised the project, evaluated activities and prepared materials to be published as a result of the whole project.
▶Impact
Project participants achieved all the goals planned at the application stage: -broadened awareness and tolerance towards cultural differences, discovered common values -increased motivation to improve English language competences -developed the ability to act and cooperate in an international environment, -developed the positive attitude towards discovering new ways to solve the problem -enhanced creativity and cognitive curiosity -increased self-confidence and self-esteem -realised the importance of the role of communication -developed digital competences -raised interest in planning, performing and promoting activities which could help achieving common goals. Both students and teachers learnt how to communicate their needs, work together on activities that required the participation of many people, and above all how to achieve common goals. This involved each partner promoting learning opportunities where students could learn and build knowledge in innovative ways and where teachers could learn teaching strategies based on students' potential. Teachers became mentors supporting young people in the process of creating the outcome of the whole project.
