Reading has become a chore. Some reluctant readers aren't keen to pick up a book because it feels like a chore. We all do things we believe we can do and what we believe is worth doing. When it comes to reading motivating students to fulfill their reading potential and encouraging them to see the value in reading are great places to start. This project was a great chance to make students interested in reading and getting familiar with novels and poems of other countries. Combination of watching too much television at home and doing a lot of boring worksheets in school is a facor of losing interest in reading. Once students lose interest in reading, it's hard to get them back. The motivation to read also tends to decrease as students get older. Reading is like any other skill. Literature helps us to observe the things around us — it sharpens our ability to listen and hear, smell, taste, and touch. Literature deepens our thinking by bringing more awareness of our own values and worldview, but also those of others throughout the world and throughout history. Reading literature from a different culture helps people develop a wider understanding of the world around them. This wider understanding has innumerable positive effects.

Literature-based reading instruction involves teaching reading through exposure to literature. In other words, students learn how to analyze texts by reading and analyzing texts. The focus of literature-based instruction is to help children develop literacy skills through having real-life literary experiences. For some students, literature activities must be simple and fun so that they can experience the beauty of the written word. We did our best to implement the wide variety of fun and attractive activieties: Here are some interactive learning strategies to make Literature fun and exciting for students: > getting creative with reading > using multimedia resources > introducing interactive Quizzes and Games > organising discussion groups and Literature Clubs > relating literature to current events > organising writing and creative workshops on literature > asking for student feedback

1. Literature workshops: Turkey - Karem and Asli by Ahmed Fahri Portugal - Blindness by Jose Saramago Italy - "The Betrothed" by Kiera Cass Poland - "Nothing twice" by Szymborska and "Świtezianka" by A. Mickiewicz 2. Presentations on different writers - Students by preparing presentations in small discussing groups had a great chance to discover the history of writer's lives, compare the passtime values and draw a link to the contemporary world. 3. Translated texts of poems into English at B1/B2 level - Translation allows literature to travel, 4. Glossaries and the key word lists. 5. Quizes and games on Quizzlet platform (available to teachers as a tool for further worshops) 6. 20 lesson plans on literature topics - sharing experience and good material for further work 7. Literature Clubs - at schools with planned meeting schedules and correlation with school events 8. Comprehension tests 9. List of topics for literature discussons during the classes 10. Meetings with local writers 11. Trips to libraries 12. Museum visit 13. Art galleries presenting scenes form different novels (paintings, sculptures, collages) 14.
