Objectives

In recent years, breast cancer has been the most common type of cancer among Polish women (25% of all cancer cases) and European women (29%). Personal experiences and observations of our surroundings have exposed the shortcomings and needs of individuals facing a health crisis. Therefore, we decided to respond with tailored solutions. Our goal was to provide support by developing educational tools that would facilitate a faster return to health and work after illness, incorporating international experiences. On one hand, this aimed to enhance the competencies of staff in partner organizations and encourage the exchange of best practices. On the other hand, it sought to create a professional support and education base addressing the most frequently recurring needs of breast cancer survivors. In summary, the project primarily aimed to strengthen partner organizations and provide comprehensive support for women after breast cancer treatment. It addressed their needs related to psychological rehabilitation, rebuilding self-esteem, social integration, and health education. Through this support, women can regain confidence and better cope with the challenges that life after illness presents.
