Summary

Objectives Given the deteriorating results of research on mental health among young people, the project aims to restrict, and compensate for the negative effects that the ongoing epidemic situation had on the mental development of children and youth, by means of creating tools and developing an innovative model for working with students who are in an unfavourable mental condition. The project serves as an answer to a disconcerting social problem pertaining to depression among students. Activities Psychiatrists specialising in youth and children will be invited to participate in the project as consultants. Actions: - desk research and new population research among public school teachers concerning their current needs in terms of working with students at risk of suicidal behaviour/ depression - a guidebook with a series of infographics intended for public school teachers - a model for working with student with depression/after a suicide attempt - a comic for young people - social campaign Impact Materials developed within the scope of the project are going to facilitate improving teacher competence in terms of working with youth suffering from mental health disorders and will also help compensate for the negative effects of the ongoing pandemic. The outcomes will be specific tools, as well as an innovative model for working with students in an unfavourable mental condition, prevention of exclusion of students with emotional disorders, and prevention of mental disorders becoming a taboo.
