Climate Change and STEM Education in Classrooms
▶Summary
With our project, we improved the competence of our primary and secondary school teachers in climate change education. While improving our teachers’ climate change education, we also improved their technological competence by integrating technology into their education methods. For this purpose, we increased our teachers’ competence in bringing innovative teaching models by integrating STEM education and robotic applications coding with an interdisciplinary approach to climate change education. We enabled our teachers to receive our training modules on our MOOC platforms through e-learning platforms from different countries and to develop their networks by collaborating also with their colleagues working in different countries. We also tried to help our teachers develop their skills in planning digital lessons with different methods in the field of climate change and actively implement them in their classes so that they can be successful after their course training.
▶Objectives
-Digital lesson planning skills of educators who deal with climate change issues in primary and secondary schools have been improved. -In accordance with the Climate Change Education approach, interdisciplinary skills in lessons on environment and climate change have been improved. -614 primary and secondary school teachers were provided climate change training with the e-learning platform prepared together with project partner institutions.
▶Activities
