With this project, we aimed to boost environmental awareness and enhance sustainability skills among participants from both our school and our partner school. We sought to encourage pupils to actively preserve nature, understand bees' importance to the ecosystem and food security, and develop a responsible attitude toward the environment. The project raised awareness of climate change issues. Collaboration with our Croatian partner school fostered a sense of European identity and solidarity, contributing to pupils' personal and social growth. Through shared activities, pupils explored peers' culture, language, and traditions, realizing multicultural principles and European values. By using digital tools, they enhanced their digital and communication skills, documenting activities in Slovenian, Croatian, and English. Involving parents and the local community strengthened social skills and intergenerational connections. Practical learning was emphasized as pupils helped create a bee sensory path, building craftsmanship, self-esteem, and motor skills. Through active participation of all envolved in our project, we strived to achieve lasting, long-term changes to benefit future generations.

As part of the project, we carried out activities focused on strengthening learning competencies, intercultural collaboration, and enhancing green skills. A preparatory meeting was organized to outline guidelines and planned activities. We conducted three educational mobilities for student and teacher exchanges with partner schools. Participants engaged in olive harvesting, organic soap making from natural local ingridients, and creating a honey recipe booklet, gaining valuable practical skills and understanding sustainable practices. One key activity was setting up a bee sensory trail, designed with natural materials and bee motifs. We held two concerts in Ljubljana and Split, enabling students to exchange cultural experiences and connect with peers. Regular evaluations were conducted to assess progress and adapt activities to achieve desired outcomes. All activities were documented on both schools’ websites and will also be available on ESEP and eTwinning platforms, ensuring wider access to project achievements and partnerships. The project actively involved parents and the local community, raising awareness of sustainability and strengthening the role of bees in our ecosystem.

The bee sensory path was designed by pupils and teachers from both partner schools. Composed of natural materials and interactive points, it promotes learning through a holistic approach. The trail has become a symbol of sustainable values and a long-term educational tool for all generations. We plan to integrate it into the Bee Path of the Municipality of Ljubljana, making it accessible to the wider public. Students compiled a honey recipe booklet and recorded a bilingual video about pollinators, both available on the schools' websites. Together with students from the partner school, they harvested olives, participated in oil pressing, and produced natural soaps from local ingredients. They created a sensory book titled »Krive so čebele« (Blame it on the Bees) printed in Braille and featuring a QR code for audio access. The opening of the bee sensory trail and both concerts in Ljubljana and Split were carefully planned, accompanied by our project mascot, Mila the Bee, using a fresh approach to raise environmental awareness. By sharing events on websites and social media, we increased visibility for both schools, ensuring sustainable outcomes that have become valuable resources for all participants' learning processes.
