Objectives

The main objectives were: 1. To transform a farm into an educational farm and a yard into an educational garden, creating multifunctional learning spaces with a focus on inquiry-based and problem-solving learning. 2. To develop high-quality teaching materials that support inquiry-based learning in both newly developed environments. 3. To promote knowledge about sustainability, scientific skills, and environmental awareness among children, parents, and professionals. 4. To strengthen cross-border cooperation and the exchange of best practices between Slovenian and Croatian kindergartens.

Activities

The following activities were carried out as part of the project: • Establishing a "Food Lab" as an educational and research laboratory for food processing. • Constructing a greenhouse and raised garden beds to explore different farming methods. • Organizing workshops for parents and professionals, including cooking workshops focused on the sustainable use of food. • Publishing the cookbook "What to Do with Food Waste" to promote sustainable food practices. • Conducting professional training sessions for educators on creating high-quality teaching materials and incorporating innovative teching methods. • Hosting exchanges, job shadowings and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance educational practices among partners.

Impact

* An educational farm is established, including the "Food Lab," which is fully equipped for hands-on, research-based learning and food experimentation. * Raised garden beds and a greenhouse are build, providing children with opportunities to learn about planting, cultivation, and the principals of seasonal farming. * High-quality teaching materials and manuals are developed to support inquiry-based learning. * The cookbook "What to Do with Food Waste." Is published and distributed. * The professional competencies of educators are enhanced through training sessions and joint workshops. * Environmental awareness is improved, and sustainable habits are fostered among children and parents. * Cross-border collaboration is strengthened, enabling the sharing of innovative educational practices among project partners.
