Objectives

One of the main objectives of the project is using storytelling and creative theatre as a tool for education, learning support, socialization and integration. The main story developed in the process is the human relation to nature, integrating the different period of times of life on earth and human civilization and its influence on climate changes. The process based on values of human dignity, equality and integrating groups of experts, mentors, people with fewer opportunities, youth the project, we wanted to achieve enthusiasm for the useful and creative use of digital technology and awareness that the demonstrated use of a smartphone can serve them to achieve better learning results, while at the same time spending less time playing violent games and browsing social networks with inappropriate content. We also wanted to improve conversational English by introducing new environmental vocabulary, and above all cooperation with young people with special needs, in the specific case of young people with Trisomy 21. We wanted to achieve the realization that our relationship with nature concerns all Earthlings, regardless of their different abilities and knowledge , and that creativity hand in hand with respectful treatment helps us.

Activities

The project consisted of 4 activities. The first was the INTRODUCTORY meeting in Maribor, which was attended by representatives of both key organizations and representatives of Duplek Primary School. The second activity was aimed at the visit of three mentors in Skopje, Slovenia, where they ran theater workshops, dr. Žiga Malek gave a lecture on the state of natural resources and environmental threats, and caterers from Kolektiv Veternica invited Slovenian guests to a guided tour of the museum. The third activity was dedicated to the implementation of intensive 10-day animation workshops in the stop tic technique under the mentorship of 4 representatives of Kolektiv Veternica. It was held at Duplek Elementary School in March. The last, fourth activity took place in Koper as part of the PRI SVETILNIKU festival, where we presented the work of 9 students from Duplek Elementary School (an animated film), and representatives of the partner organization Kolektiv Veternica connected the essence of the project in the form of a theatrical performance; what will happen to humanity if the last tree falls.

Impact

The concrete result is certainly an animated film in the stop trick technique, the fruit of the creative process of all participants from both partner organizations and the local community (Osnovne šole Duplek), entitled TREE IN TIME, which will be used in history lessons at this and other elementary schools in the 7th grade. The presentation of the film for the local community will be part of the Institute's cooperation as part of the Erasmus days. The screenings will take place at Duplek Elementary School and Rada Robič Elementary School in Limbuš. The film is an excellent starting point for discussion and reflection on the role of man in natural processes and how the relationship to nature manifests itself in interpersonal as well as global dimensions. One of the encouraging results is the establishment of a creative circle at the school, which I hope will continue to exist after the end of the project. An unexpected result is the cooperation and interest of other local elementary schools in the project. Also, the partner organization with a theater performance expands the results both with the projection of the film and with the performance as an exemplary model of a true inclusive theater, where it is not important who create
