Blockchain for Agri-Food Educators

The main idea behind the Blockchian poject was to address the growing need for digital skills in the agrifood sector. The application of blockchain technology in this field holds transformative potential, improving transparency, traceability, and efficiency in the supply chain. However, education on blockchain technology in the agrifood sector was lacking, particularly in higher education institutions. This project aimed to fill that gap by developing innovative educational resources to equip educators, students, and professionals with the knowledge and tools to integrate blockchain technology into the agrifood industry, ensuring the sector stays competitive and sustainable in the digital era.​

The main objectives of the project were to integrate blockchain technology into agrifood education and to enhance digital literacy within the sector. By developing educational resources such as the Guide to Blockchain Education and Open Educational Resources (OERs), the project aimed to equip educators, students, and professionals with the skills to utilize blockchain technology. The project also sought to increase awareness and understanding of blockchain’s potential in improving transparency, traceability, and sustainability within agrifood supply chains, thereby addressing critical challenges in the industry​
