Summary

Our partnership applied for the STEAM project as a reaction to changes in education and the need for innovations after COVID-19. Together, we saw STEAM as a key to modernizing teaching and preparing students for the 21st century. The key needs we wanted to address included the development of 21st-century skills (critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving) and digital literacy, which is essential for today's students and the labor market. We also wanted to improve teaching methods and support the professional development of teachers in introducing innovative approaches. The project was an opportunity for us for international cooperation, exchange of experiences, and joint creation of relevant materials and methodologies. Our goal was to increase students' interest in learning, connect theory with practice, and educate active, prepared graduates. Together we identified these needs and believed that the project would bring tangible results for all involved organizations, contributing to the fulfillment of EU goals in education.

Objectives

By implementing the project "Qualified Generations with STEAM Education", we wanted to achieve a fundamental modernization of teaching and increase its relevance for the challenges of the 21st century. Our key goal was the comprehensive development of 21st-century skills in students, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, and above all, strengthening their digital literacy and readiness. We wanted to increase their interest in STEAM subjects and improve educational outcomes through innovative and interconnected learning approaches. For teachers, the goal was to develop innovative teaching methods and strengthen their digital and pedagogical competencies for effective implementation of STEAM into practice. We strived to create and disseminate relevant educational materials and methodologies (intellectual outputs) that would serve as inspiration. A significant goal was also international cooperation, exchange of experiences, and support for networking among European institutions, with the aim of creating new partnerships and joint development in the field of e-STEAM education. Activities

The project "Qualified Generations with STEAM Education" included the implementation of various activities. Key activities were mobilities and trainings (LTTAs) for teachers, staff, and pupils in partner countries, supplemented by virtual meetings for the exchange of experiences and coordination. We focused on the creation of intellectual outputs – methodologies, educational materials, and e-resources for the implementation of STEAM and e-STEAM, which we subsequently introduced into teaching. This included direct work with pupils on STEAM projects in classrooms, where they applied knowledge and developed 21st-century skills. We organized multiplier events (physical and virtual) for disseminating results, networking, and discussions with the professional public. An integral part was ongoing cooperation among partners, also focused on the integration of digital tools and sustainable practices. Impact

The specific outputs and other results of our project "Qualified Generations with STEAM Education" are primarily the created intellectual outputs. These include methodologies, didactic and educational materials, as well as e-resources for the effective implementation of STEAM and e-STEAM education. Examples of these materials, available on the project website, include elaborated lessons, exchanges of good practices, presentations of schools and partners, materials focused on specific topics (e.g., Quadratic function, The use of spirals in architecture, House Design Slovakia, development of reading literacy, fight against hoaxes and disinformation, and others) and materials supporting interdisciplinary relations. We integrated these materials into our curricula. The project led to observable changes in students, such as the development of 21st-century skills, improvement of digital competencies, and increased interest in STEAM subjects and their connection to practice.
