โ–ถSummary

With this project, we aimed to ensure the sustainability of teacher development with digital educational materials through a total of 21 modules prepared based on the needs analysis by focusing on the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of preschool and primary school teachers on first aid practices and chronic diseases. Chronic diseases, as long-term diseases, do not have a definitive treatment, but they require regular (medical) intervention and restrict the person's daily life activities. First aid is defined as the intervention given to the victim in emergency situations. Since it can often take time for health workers to arrive at the scene, these practices should be initiated by the people present. Current evidence has shown that the academic performance of students with chronic diseases who need first aid is adversely affected and they need integrated health and education interventions. Therefore, we made this application because we find it very vital that teachers gain awareness, knowledge and necessary skills regarding such practices so that they can take action when necessary within the scope of the variety of emergency situations that require intervention, and thus assume the leading role in first aid actions.

โ–ถObjectives

The main objectives we wanted to achieve with this project were as follows: OBJECTIVE 1: To identify the top priority issues in the field of first aid and chronic diseases and to improve the knowledge, awareness and experience of teachers using digital educational materials for students who may need first aid intervention and to ensure the continuity of these knowledge and skills. OBJECTIVE 2: To develop an innovative and high-performance digital education platform (online/mobile) for training delivery and to increase the digital capacity of partner institutions and the digital competencies of the target audience, focusing especially on the CPD of pre-school and primary school teachers in first aid interventions. OBJECTIVE 3: To develop the capacity of teachers and trainers to provide an inclusive educational environment for students with chronic diseases. OBJECTIVE 4: To increase institutional capacity and professionalism to work at EU/international level through improved management competencies and internationalization strategies gained through the implementation of the cooperation partnership. According to all the results obtained, all objectives have been successfully achieved.

โ–ถActivities

Following the Kick-Off Meeting + launch event held in Izmir, surveys were conducted with teachers & students. Based on the results, 21 modules were prepared on the most prioritized topics and a special measurement and evaluation methodology was developed. Progress was reviewed during the 2nd Transnational Partner Meeting (TPM) in Romania. Video scripts and recordings were completed to create dynamic content and 13 First Aid and 8 Chronic Disease Interactive Videos were created. An online/mobile E-Learning System was designed to ensure sustainability of learning. Coordination, monitoring and reporting activities (WP1) continued throughout the project. A theoretical-practical e-book, an academic/scientifically published e-book and digital H5P formatted modules were completed. After testing the materials, partners met in Lithuania (3rd TPM) to approve the outputs. Module testing workshops were organized. All materials were translated into the partners' languages. An LTTA pilot in Latvia enabled the implementation. Dissemination activities continued throughout the project to maximize reach. The project concluded with the 4th TPM and final multiplier event in Greece to ensure finalization and sustainability of the project outcomes.

โ–ถImpact

- Online needs analysis survey was conducted in all partner countries and the results of the survey were prepared as a report. - Based on the analysed survey results, 13 First Aid and 8 Chronic Disease Modules (Educational Content) were created and formatted into H5P. - The digital e-book of the project was created as a useful and practical output of TA4H, including QR codes + an online HTML5 livebook version, which includes all educational content and theoretical information. - A book was published as a scientific/academic book with DOI and ISBN number in Turkish. - 23 videos on 13 First Aid and 8 Chronic Diseases were created and embedded in the modules. - A mobile (Android, iOS) + web-compatible LMS were established, hosting the H5P modules + embedded videos, assessments. - The project facilitated teachers' action for inclusiveness by offering a special section on Inclusive Communication as a sub-module. - Disseminations were made available to wider audiences through multiple channels, workshops and multiplier events. - We succeeded in raising professionalism as well as institutional and management capacities to work at EU/international level with internationalization strategies. - Expansion of partner's network.
