Çırakların Girişimcilikte Güçlendirilmesi
▶Summary
In Europe, including Türkiye and North Macedonia, many vocational training programs fall short of providing effective entrepreneurship education. Once considered an inherent trait, entrepreneurship is now recognized as a skill that can be taught through structured training, vital for vocational students to benefit from both academic and practical experiences. Current vocational programs often lack sufficient entrepreneurship courses and support, leading to the underdevelopment of soft skills such as leadership, communication, and problem-solving. Additionally, vocational teachers frequently fail to provide necessary psychosocial support, causing apprentices to feel insecure and less independent. To address these gaps and combine the less developed entrepreneurship education in countries like Türkiye and North Macedonia with a more concrete and focused approach seen in countries like Estonia (ages 16-19), vocational curricula need to be restructured to integrate comprehensive entrepreneurship training that enhances job skills and builds confidence. The project aimed to improve entrepreneurship education through transnational cooperation, sharing best practices, and enhancing program quality.
▶Objectives
The project aims to innovate VET by enhancing students' soft skills and entrepreneurship knowledge. Specific objectives include: Improving Skills: Many VET programs lack effective entrepreneurship education, resulting in underdeveloped soft skills. The project targeted 200 apprentices and students, leading to significant improvements in both areas through local implementation. Upskilling Educators: With weak entrepreneurship curricula limiting teachers, the project focused on sharing best practices and upskilling educators. Consequently, educators were trained, and a new module was developed for their use. Developing Training Materials: Addressing the lack of comprehensive entrepreneurship training in vocational programs, the project produced empowering training materials. This update has significantly enhanced business skills and self-confidence among participants. Increasing Opportunities: The project aimed to expand opportunities for VET students and apprentices through transnational cooperation and best practice sharing. As a result, they benefited from improved training and greater developmental opportunities.
