โ–ถObjectives

EASY4DIGIT intends to address the challenge represented by a more sustainable and competitive farming as response to the increase of world population and risks due to global warming and climate change. This result cannot be achieved without developing awareness and competences of farmers towards an advanced digital knowledge focused on smart and resilient farming. EASY4DIGIT will raise the skills capacity and in-house functional knowledge and best practices in order to improve the overall competitiveness of the agriculture industry and succeed in an increasingly digital, green and knowledge driven economy. The EASY4DIGIT project, seeks to facilitate the adoption of digital technologies in agriculture, promote sustainable farming practices and improve the competitiveness of the agricultural sector in the EU. To achieve this, it will provide access to cutting-edge technologies through digital education for both farmers and decision-makers in the agricultural sector.

โ–ถActivities

The EASY4DIGIT project has been focused on an holistic approach to digital farming enabling all stakeholders included in the knowledge and competence process to collaborate within a methodology connecting communication, technologies and smart solutions aimed to develop digital agriculture as a way to foster more sustainable food production in the framework of a circular economy and use of renewable energy sources. An e-Learning course has been set up on use of digital technologies in agriculture for โ€ข optimizing the agronomic decisions โ€ข controlling the precision of the applications โ€ข recording the work performed โ€ข analysing the performances. Within this learning framework the Decision Support Systems is particularly explained as drivers for Precision Agriculture connecting farming with digital education and technological competences for more sustainable, resilient and competitive rural areas. The e-learning materials have been constituted of three Modules, Transnational Summary Report and Case Studies available on internet as Open Education Resources (OER) under Creative Commons license with an additional tutorial, populated with links to bibliography and other OER e-learning materials that analysed and presented to the trainees.

โ–ถImpact

The main output of the project is a catalog for combined training open to on-site, long-distance and online interactive learning on the main theme of the use of digital technologies in agriculture. The EASY4DIGIT training course is designed to improve knowledge of digital solutions among agricultural professionals through i) the report on the state-of-the-art of the smart farming development, as guidelines to know about all that is moving towards advanced agricultural systems, ii) case studies and iii) a 3-module training course, Module 1 'Communication Support to Decision Process for Digital Agriculture', aimed to educate to the use the Decision Support System at farm level, Module 2 'Smart solutions for innovative, sustainable and safe agri-food supply chains', focused on advanced technologies enabling farmers and professionals to get better performances in terms of competitiveness and sustainability, and Module 3 'Dissemination model of good practices for digital education, low impact and circular economy in the agricultural and food sector', based on the best way and samples to communicate and disseminate the various kinds of smart farming technologies. An online platform has include all training tools for e-learning.
