The main aim was to assist the EU's policy on exploiting the capabilities of digital technologies for teaching and learning; to improve the digital skills of small-scale food producers (LFPs) who are part of economically and geographically disadvantaged populations in periurban zones of large cities by engaging them in the digital transformation process. Specific Objectives were identified as; SO1: Developing a database to unveil the potential of LFPs and consumption for food safety and food security issues on a trust based approach between the LFPs and local consumers. SO2: Facilitating the digital adaptation of LFPs by developing their digital skills which became essential for Professional lives of producers and everyday lives of consumers. SO3: Establishing sustainable food hubs which will act as online market for local food actors including the LFPs, the consumers and local managing authorities. SO4: Generating a flexible VET tool (mobile application) where all the previous objectives combine; (a) database, (b) VET methodology, (c) local food hubs. SO5: Raising public awareness on local food, food safety, labelling, climate change and food security, sustainable growth of agro-food sector etc.
