We want our students and even parents and teachers to become aware of the world they live in. And to be a part of it and to take responsibility for its evolution. We wanted our students to practise their real life skills in a scenario-based safe learning environment while interacting with other members of the world. Each activity in this project was connected in a chronological sense and they all aimed to make our students practise their critical thinking and creativity skills by pushing them to ponder over a future that might happen.

Teachers, parents and students’ took trainings on climate change and democracy. We expanded the effect of the awareness by supplying the whole school community with these trainings to create a whole-hearted atmosphere at school. Afterwards, we included the parents into the task of reading “Not A Drop To Drink” and quizshow related. So that they would at least partially experience this Erasmus together with their kids. We focused the rest of the project on that probability and designed a project on it. How do we go to Mars? We designed a country from scratch which cannot be nationalist so it should include a lifestyle effected by different countries besides which gave our students to think over “How should an ideal country be like? And why?”. Which elements form a country? They designed the geographic features, anthem, flag of that country. They elected and got elected to rule that country which also contributed to their citizenship skills and helped them to understand the importance of elections. They focused on “How can the people of a country feel happy and fulfilled?’. They understand the Universal Declaration and constitutions of the countries and the term of elections. “How is life in the new lands? What inventions and jobs?

What were the concrete outputs and other results of our project? Our project instagram account, facebook account, project blog, online project journal of four issues, lesson plans by teachers of different disciplines from each country integrating climate change and democracy into their curriculums, country (flag, map, money currency, anthem), invention catalogue, job catalogue.
