▶Objectives
The biggest advantage of STEM education is the integration of different subjects into the curriculum to implement a larger project. This allows students to understand the connections between the subjects they study at school and to answer the questions “Why do I need this information?”, “Where will I use what I have learned?”. The main goal of this project was for all about 500 students from the 3 European countries to participate in STEM projects and work in a STEM environment. The sub-goals of the project were: - implementation of social and cultural dialogue between partners; - development of skills to develop solutions to a specific problem or task; - understanding concepts through practice, not by memorizing from a textbook; - development of creativity and critical thinking skills; - promotion of students’ determination; - promotion of social cooperation and teamwork; The implementation of cross-curricular connections and cross-curricular learning was carried out with the help of all teachers. As a final result of the project, written and printed materials, video materials, presentations, a project logo, an eTwinning portal, exhibitions and seminars were produced.
▶Activities
All activities that were to be carried out since the beginning of our project have been successfully completed. Both domestic and international events were held. LTT activities focused on the following topics: - STEM and climate change; - Renewable energy; - Climate change and people; - Recycling. Various workshops were created and students developed various prototypes (city model and solar panel lighting, etc.). https://school-education.ec.europa.eu/tr/etwinning/projects/steam-climate-change https://padlet.com/bodrumbilsem/t-rk-ye-online-ltt-first-day-v47uwuzo3ky39zoz https://padlet.com/bodrumbilsem/bulgaria-ltt-first-day-x97vd10ht26quagc https://padlet.com/bodrumbilsem/serbia-ltt-first-day-uu1ecdqque9roctx https://padlet.com/bodrumbilsem/im portant-days-vd7xxcmikze87hcn https://padlet.com/bodrumbilsem/recycling-works-utph0iynmduexqls https://padlet.com/bodrumbilsem/t-rk-ye-ltt-2nd-day-f3ni0ck3ayyw9dw1 https://padlet.com/bodrumbilsem/recycling-works-utph0iynmduexqls https://padlet.com/bodrumbilsem/environmental-themed-studies-using-wordart-word-cloud-tool-7i5bbl7wiakevqpm https://padlet.com/bodrumbilsem/environmental-themed-brochures-9s4rshmlvsdf52x6
▶Impact
Each of the participating students has observed STEM teaching, enriched their knowledge about global warming, changed their perspective on life and their habits. Each of them is well informed on topics such as renewable energy, climate change and recycling. All partners shared the results of the project on their school websites. Facebook, Instagram, project website, Youtube, eTwinning were used to disseminate the pages. All photos and videos taken during the project were shared on eTwinning accounts and social media. Other local schools, teachers and students also benefited from the project.
