Objectives

Main aim was to improve media-pedagogical competences of VET teaching personnel by planning, piloting, evaluating tailor-made teaching and learning scenarios to foster the use of 3D scanning, 3D printing, and WEBVR in industry training in the fields of chemistry and IT. This involved learners with different backgrounds and capacities as well as fostered green practices e.g. by resource efficient 3D printing of spare parts in the chemical training plant.

Activities

The project activities implemented involved a structured and collaborative process of several on- and offline activities such as project meetings, staff trainings, teaching and learning scenarios piloting and promotion activities to create high quality outputs to foster the no-code and low-threshold use of 3D scanning, 3D printing, and WEBVR and their continuous (formative) evaluation and improvement in practical training. This resulted tailor-made learning content, learning videos, applicable pedagogical guidance, and documented best practices.

Impact

FASTER 3D resulted in 7 teaching and learning scenarios (incl. learning videos, and lesson plans) of using 3D scanning, 3D printing, and WEBVR in a no-code, low-threshold, and pedagogical versatile way in practical training chemistry and IT. This is accompanied by didactic guidelines, best practice guide, and learning modules (micro-credentials) in the DE, EN, and GR. Therefore, it was possible to attract and involve of up to 50 VET teachers and trainers as well as selected learners. The FASTER 3D outputs contributed actively to the digital capacity development of the involved organisations and laid the foundations for further resulting actions to cope with digital transition challenges. Especially by online measures more the 18.000 persons could be reached.
