Building a Digital World for All - Developing Critical

Objectives This project aims to train and empower youth workers to prepare young migrants to critically question and evaluate information disseminated through digital media by combining digital, information and media literacy with critical thinking techniques and the behavioural model of Tiny Habits. This strengthens the role of youth workers in building the resilience of democratic societies against disinformation through collaborative strategies, while contributing to migrants’ inclusion. Activities The project unfolds in three phases. In the first phase, youth workers are introduced to the project idea and trained on core concepts, which they then apply to gain insights into how to intervene with young migrants in this scope. In the second phase, youth workers and young migrants come together to create the content of an online course. In a third phase, this content is compiled into a freely available course and a handbook is produced for youth workers to prepare them to use this course Impact The main outcome is youth workers' increased competences in dealing with young migrants and their use of digital media. This goal is achieved through the combination of training material for youth workers and an online course that they can use in their daily work, focusing on promoting motivation of target groups to apply these techniques.
