Summary

Both project partners have a background of working directly in or acting to various levels and components of the formal education system in France and Denmark. Therefore, the project idea was prompted by the 2 project partners being approached by a local and a regional training institution, respectively requesting to obtain suggestions for the development of flexible training tools for EduTech learning solutions. Our motivation for this project, then, stems from 20+ years of experience within the field of education and training. We wanted to expand cross-national research in the use of immersive technology in learning, knowing from experience that bridging different educational methods and involving multiple national stakeholders is essential for creating EduTech platforms for European and global use. Furthermore, then, project partners wished to gain insight into educators' perspective on the use and potential of EduTech, particularly XR, in order to fully engage with the needs, and challenges educators themselves see in this field going forward. Project partners have gained a larger European network of educators and stakeholders as well as collected tangible data from said network on the topic of EduTech.

Objectives

Most significant objective and goal was establishing a survey (scaled into a preliminary and follow-up survey) aimed at organisations concerned by EduTech in VET, the primary focal point being teachers and trainers, institutions and learners. It was determined that the survey must investigate awareness, appreciation and motivation for the project’s topics of effectively improving and upskilling methods and technologies. Another essential goal was presenting a results compendium as inspiration for curriculum development revisions in teaching methods and XR tools within EduTech in VET, therein summarising the challenges and the status of EduTech readiness, therein producing recommendations on future steps.
