▶Objectives
The completed project was an introduction for personal empowerment of people who teach (adult educators and teachers, educators). The analysis and summary of the project results led to an understanding of future target setting and a concrete plan of learning activities in the form of new refresher courses. We also aimed at introducing interactive learning methods based on the knowledge of group processes development and conscious guidance, as well as the development of communication skills of the professional. We chose this area because more and more learning and teaching has moved to the virtual environment, which should reduce misunderstandings between people in their professional activities. In order to move from a subject-centred to a learner-centred approach to teaching, teachers need to have personal experience of positive and productive interaction with a teaching purpose. This problem-setting required the development of an original curriculum and teaching materials. The Learning Centre Tõru also wanted to establish international contacts for further cooperation with Nordic countries in the publishing of teaching materials. At the same time, we also had to offer a handbook on methodologically teaching methods.
▶Activities
1. During the project was conducted 6 training series (6 groups): 4 days training in 5 counties overall Estonia and for a supranational group of teachers' unions. Local partners were the folk high schools, and the Teachers' Union. The training curriculum was designed in four modules: personal influence; group process management; dialogue and negotiation techniques; public speaking. At the end of the training there was a discussion, feedback. 2. Study trip to Oslo. Our task was to present Nordic methodological material in Estonia. We visited a bookstore to look at specialised literature. The partner also presented previously published teaching materials. The possibility of putting together a collection-type publication using a variety of original sources was also discussed. To translate to Estonian was chosen a book "The study circle method. The ultimate learning tool", author Sturla Bjerkaker. The book is published in e-version (https://tõrukoolitus.ee/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Bjerkaker_Opiring.pdf, also added as annex) and on the paper. 3. The final seminar "The secret of a good adult educator", incl. presentation from Norwegian partner 4. Two public appearances in the press - for more details see the following paragraph.
