Objectives

By implementing this project, we aimed to achieve objectives that support both environmental sustainability and the development of key green skills, as well as create a more environmentally conscious community. We wanted to: raise awareness about the importance of sustainable living among students, teaching them about the journey of food in nature, water usage, energy resources, and the need for recycling; encourage practical actions such as tree planting campaigns and the creation of art works from waste materials, thereby fostering hands-on environmental education; equip students with skills that are not only essential for future careers in STEM and green industries but also deepen their understanding of how these skills connect with sustainable practices; strengthen civic engagement by promoting awareness of common environmental values across different European cultures, with an emphasis on equality, justice, and environmental responsibility; foster a better understanding of agricultural and forestry practices suitable for the local environment, as well as teach students how to create sustainable farming practices through hands-on experiences like composting and organic fertilizer preparation.

Activities

We implemented mobilities and virtual activities aimed at developing environmental awareness, STEM competencies, and sustainable practices among students, teachers, and families. The key activities included: - Workshops and learning sessions held in Estonia, Portugal, and Turkey, focusing on: forestation and combating environmental pollution; applying STEM-based solutions to ecological challenges, including recycling, climate change, and water filtration; utilizing digital tools in sustainable agriculture and solar energy management. - Virtual mobilities, which focused on: Curriculum analysis to assess the integration of ecological literacy; creation of digital books and posters showcasing ecological practices in partner schools; development of outputs related to ecological citizenship and conscious consumption. - Local activities in each partner institution, such as: tree planting, establishing “green corners” or agricultural learning zones; organizing community workshops focused on sustainable living and reducing carbon footprint; hands-on student activities including art posters from recycled materials. Each activity was tightly integrated into the learning process and ensured high participant engagement.

Impact

The project delivered significant and measurable results in learning, teaching practices, and school improvement: - Digital booklets and e-books on forestation, waste recycling, ecological issues, and carbon footprint awareness. - Educational materials, including visual posters, teaching resources, and STEM-based eco-experiments. - Establishment of ecological learning zones in partner institutions. - Student created animated videos exploring environmental topics. - Over 300 students, teachers, and parents participated in international and local activities, gaining real-life experience in environmental education and intercultural collaboration. - Students engaged in peer education and dissemination, sharing their knowledge and personal growth. - Families became actively involved, learning to reduce their carbon and water footprint, and applying sustainable habits at home. - Partner institutions developed and started implementing institutional action plans focused on resource efficiency and waste reduction. The project combined science, creativity, and cooperation to achieve its goals, promote green thinking, and uphold European values of solidarity, democracy, and equality.
