▶Objectives
Our main objective was to educate students about eco-friendly fashion, circular economy principles, and innovative solutions, ultimately leading to a change in consumption habits and a reduction in the carbon footprint. We sought to achieve this through a variety of interactive and engaging methods, ensuring that the learning process was both informative and enjoyable. In addition: * Develop Practical Skills: Equip students with practical skills in sustainable fashion, such as upcycling, clothing repair, and eco-friendly fabric selection. * Promote Critical Thinking: Encourage students to critically assess the environmental impact of their fashion choices and consumption patterns. * Create Collaboration: allow students to work together on sustainability initiatives. It can range from organizing clothing swaps and fashion shows featuring sustainable designs. * Integrate Technology and Innovation: Introduce students to technologies and innovative practices in the fashion industry. * Foster Community Engagement: Build partnerships with local businesses, non-profits, and industry experts to provide students with real-world insights.
▶Activities
We implemented a series of workshops, lectures, presentations, and collaborative activities involving students, teachers, experts, and local communities. These activities aimed to raise awareness, promote creativity, and develop practical solutions for sustainable fashion. * Lesson Plans on Circular Economy: A comprehensive educational course was developed and integrated into the curricula of partner schools. These lesson plans covered essential topics such as waste management, resource efficiency, and the benefits of a circular economy. It consists of 16 lesson plans from 4 different countries. It has been approached in 4 different ways: through art, information technology (IT), technology and economy * Fashion Show: A highlight of our project was an innovative fashion show featuring garments made from recycled materials. This event not only showcased creativity but also highlighted the potential of upcycling in reducing waste. * Workshops and Seminars: Various workshops were organized to provide hands-on learning experiences. These sessions covered practical aspects of recycling and reusing materials, engaging participants in interactive and impactful ways. * International Conference * Community Outreach Programs
▶Impact
The concrete outputs of our project included the creation of innovative eco-friendly products, such as school bags and souvenirs, along with the development of a selective course on the circular economy. Additionally, we conducted opinion polls, organized a fashion show featuring designs from recycled materials, and established a project website for dissemination purposes.
