▶Objectives
First objective was to create a new, hotel specific training program - so this could be used in the future to conduct trainings for hotel housekeeping staff (managers). Secondly we wanted to test this program and already conduct the training for two groups, to see if the curriculum needs to be improved and also to have a success story - measurable results for hotels, to prove that cleaning is a profession where you need to have specific knowledge.
▶Activities
1. We created a working group for training program 2. We advertised the development course (both association in the mailing list + social media + partners lists + online event introducing the course to hoteliers in Estonia) 3. We put together two training groups (in Estonian language group 10 persons, in Russian language group 12 persons - including 3 from Lithuania) 4. We conducted the training course (in between also had interviews with participants and slightly changed the training day set ups according to feedback) 5. We conducted the professional exams for those who wanted to prove the skills 6. We had a final event and also invited hoteliers to introduce the results of this project and gave the certificated to participants 7. Inspired by feedback we also created additionally the handbook for hotel housekeepers to make the first training more unified and simple for managers (will be translated)
▶Impact
1. Hotel specific housekeeping managers training program - this will be shared with vocational schools who might be interested to start courses for hotel housekeepers 2. 22 persons obtained new knowledge in cleaning, most of them shared also the calculations on how much resources they have already saved due to changes of the work or in procedures 3. Handbook for housekeepers (in Estonian, will be translated to Russian, English, Lithuanian)
