▶Summary
In the beginning of the writing process (2021-2022) project’ partners knew that PISA results (2018) showed that the underachievement rate is 22.4% in mathematics and 21.6% in science. This meant that the European Commission's ET2020 benchmark target to have an underachievement rate of less than 15% has not been reached. So, there were needs to promote interest and excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and the STEAM approach. Our previous research gave us the knowledge that in fact there are not so many interesting and cheap STEM materials available in partners’ countries and even on the Internet.
▶Objectives
Our primary goal was to enhance primary school students' engagement in STEM by fostering inquiry-based learning and a multidisciplinary approach through storytelling, with a particular emphasis on including students with learning disabilities and encouraging girls. We aimed to help students recognize the skills they developed, promoting independent classroom activities by providing curriculum-aligned kits and accessible, replicable educational resources for teachers. Another key objective of our project was to cultivate students' abilities in collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking, particularly through storytelling activities connected to STEM, as well as improving their oral expression and presentation skills

Two project meetings, first in Tallinn in May 2023 Second one in Osijek in Croatia September 2024 Six multiplier events and one webinar in January 2025 International collaboration in the development of STEAM teaching methodology with storytelling elements.
▶Impact
Concret outputs are presented in webpage myboxofsteam.eu and these are 36 STEAM boxes, pedagogical guide, implementation guide and box creat´ion guide. All these outcomes are available in six languages: English, Estonian, French, Romanian, Italian and Croatian.
