Objectives

The main objective of the project was to raise awareness and educate adults on the importance of responsible and sustainable consumption, both locally and in terms of respect for the environment. To raise adults' awareness of the need to consume local and sustainable products, encouraging a responsible attitude in the consumption of products and services. 2. To train consumers to be critical and conscious when making purchasing decisions. 3. Promote the use of environmentally friendly products to prevent wasteful purchasing. 4. To promote ethical values such as austerity, responsibility and respect for the rights of producers and the environment. 5. To teach consumers to choose products not only on the basis of price or quality, but also on the basis of their environmental friendliness. 6. To change the mentality of consumers towards more demanding standards that contribute to the green economy and the preservation of natural cycles. 7. Promote healthy lifestyles and the purchase of quality products that respect the environment. It was hoped that, through small everyday changes, adults can contribute to a significant change in consumer habits and not be influenced by norms imposed by society, such as advertising or fashions.

Activities

The project developed several key activities to achieve its objectives. Three transnational meetings were held. The first, in Grenada, included the development of the e-toolkit and visits to a farm and a museum to learn about local good practices. The second, in Elba, reviewed progress, presented the e-toolkit modules and visited a farm with sustainable practices. The third, in Luneburg, Germany, was a three-hour event to present the results of the project, the training course and the game in the metaverse, as well as to discuss responsible consumption. Another activity has been the local meetings, workshops were held in the partner countries, where adults were trained on responsible consumption through the e-toolkit, learning how to recycle, reuse and reduce. Also during the Erasmus Days, a meeting was organised in the metaverse to present the project objectives, partners and project results and to have interactive discussions. Finally, the multiplier event in Winsen, at the CIRCUS TENT, presented the achievements of the project to a wider audience, highlighting the impact of the metaverse on education.

Impact

The project achieved concrete outputs that made a significant contribution to the promotion of responsible and sustainable consumption. A website was created that centralises all project resources, results, partners, meetings, etc. In addition, a Facebook page was managed, used to share project progress, disseminate posters, announce events and publish blogs. The main outputs was the e-toolkit, a practical and theoretical resource offering information and activities for educators and adults interested in sustainable consumption. It was translated into all languages of the consortium (Spanish, English, Italian and German). This material in English was also presented as a training course format (‘Training Adults for a Sustainable Life’), with a dynamic approach including quizzes, comics, open questions and role-plays. Another outstanding tool was the metaverse game, an interactive experience that allowed users to learn about sustainability in a practical and collaborative way. Finally, the project featured a blog where articles related to sustainability were published. A room in the metaverse was created to be used for Presentations as Erasmus days or another Meetings.
