Objectives

By this project we wanted to pay attention to environmental and sustainable awareness as well as diversity and equality of genders, social integration, non-discrimination, inclusion and most of all hope for the future and school motivation. We wanted to achieve new and fresh thinking and understanding that leads into action of tolerance and acceptance and into sustainable choices in one`s daily life.

Activities

We had a Logo competition for the project in both schools. There students were supposed to think about our project priorities: sustainable development, gender equality, non-discrimination, integration and inclusion. Our first mobility activity was the visit in Finland in February 2023.Kirkkojärven koulu is experienced in sustainable development and fighting against climate change so Kirkkojärvi could share good practises in environmental education with INS la Pobla de Segur. Ecological shopping bags were made of recycled materials after visiting a recycling center in Espoo. At vocational school Omnia we had a lecture on women´s role in working life in Finland. This was part of our gender equality and working life theme. Gender equality is especially important when we are talking about working life and women with immigrant background. The second mobility activity was the visit in INS la Pobla de Segur. There the main focus was on gender equality and women´s role in working life. Several visits to local companies were made and especially local female entrepreneurs were interwieved. Our Project Instagram pages have been updated all the time during the project.

Impact

The students made ecological shopping bags from recycled material after visiting a recycling centre in Espoo. They made posters and printed badge buttons with encouraging slogans and Erasmus logos in order to deliver happiness and good mood in the surroundings. A book of students´ drawings and poems in three languages (Catalan, English and Finnish) was published during the visit in INS la Pobla in April 2023. The Project Logo competition was held at the beginning of the project . The students had interwieved their mothers, grandmothers and other female relatives about their working life in Finland and in Spain. They talked about the results and compared the results in workshops in Finland. In INS la Pobla de Segur they interviewed local female entrepreneurs and discussed about the results in workshops in la Pobla. We have also had Instagram pages for the project.
