▶Objectives
The project’s objectives were to raise awareness of soil conservation among 550 people through the workshop, to train 60 new facilitators across partner countries and internationally and to mobilize this community, to produce a new version of the workshop and create a true partnership between the different project partners.
▶Activities
As part of the GLEES project, all partners were trained to facilitate the Living Soils Workshop, a workshop aimed at raising public awareness on agricultural soil conservation, in order to organize sessions for different audiences in France, in Belgium and the Netherlands (activity "Validation of the current LSW for the needs of the target groups"). Feedback from participants regarding the understanding and satisfaction of the workshop has allowed us to work on a new version of the workshop that will be available January 2025 in French, English, Dutch and Spanish (activity "Update the LSW"). New facilitators have also been trained in France and internationally, and a website as well as communication channels have allowed to develop the community (activity "Train and manage a community of facilitators". The project has been presented at several events and conferences in Europe, and at least 4 organisations outside the partners have integrated the workshop in their awareness tool box (activity “Diffuse the tool and communicate”).
▶Impact
The 5 partners organized 28 workshops and sensitized 216 participants to understanding and preserving soils. The 12 training sessions organized by LSW have enabled 80 new facilitators to be trained. The relevant feedback from participants and facilitators helped to create a new version of the workshop that was more accessible, comprehensive and allowed for a more relevant reflection and action phase. The partners presented the workshop at 7 conferences in different European countries. The new LSW website allows to mobilize the community of animators through a dedicated space. In addition to the sessions and training provided by the project, all the volunteers and new workshop facilitators helped raise awareness among more than 2400 participants in 2023 and 2024.
