Our project W.O.W has helped to develop key skills in the linguistic and digital fields and contribute to education for sustainable development. By breaking down the walls between a hundred French, Italian, Greek and Spanish students with varied social profiles, the project has enabled these young people to live a hybrid learning experience (thanks to etwinning and physical mobility) highlighting the crucial importance of social ties and human contact. The foreign language skills of French people are lower than in most European countries, especially orally. 20% of our seniors still have an A2 level in English at the end of high school. The «Make the Wall» project helped us to achieve these objectives by bringing at the end of 2Nnde 50% of our students to this level of competence through interactions between peers and real mobilities. We also wanted to contribute to the improvement of mental health, and the development of students, the project allowed students to feel more confident, more integrated in their classes and more involved in their lives.

The first year of the project, we welcomed the Italians from 12 to 18 March with a program focused on street art. Mobility in Italy took place from 16 to 22 April with a programme focused on visible and invisible walls. Mobility in Greece took place from 12 to 19 May with a programme focused on democracy, history (Athenian democracy, French revolution, resistance during World War II) and the arts (poem on the freedom to think, to express oneself to denounce, on his, right to difference). The students maintained a correspondence throughout the year, multilingual activities could be set up (on selfies, street art works). Students reacted on the themes of divisions and inequalities in society (workshops and oral and written productions). We ended by looking at human mobility -immigration and migration crisis). While Erasmus allows us to "sneak out" and fly on our own, it seemed appropriate to compare the fate of refugees who brave all dangers in the hope of a better life. This reality holds out a very dark mirror.
