Objectives

Our project aimed to foster environmental awareness, promote sustainable practices, and integrate innovative teaching methods into school curricula. Our primary objective was to equip students and teachers with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to address pressing environmental challenges such as climate change, waste mismanagement, and biodiversity loss. We sought to strengthen the connection between students and nature by implementing practical, hands-on learning activities, such as permaculture gardens and waste management workshops. Another key goal was to promote inclusivity by ensuring the active participation of disadvantaged and special needs students, fostering equality in education. Through transnational collaboration, we aimed to exchange best practices, enhance professional development for teachers, and develop a unified European approach to environmental education. Ultimately, the project sought to inspire behavioral change, create sustainable school environments, and empower participants to take an active role in protecting the planet.

Activities

Our project involved a range of activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. Key activities included: Educational Workshops: We organized hands-on workshops for students and teachers, focusing on waste management, climate change, and sustainable practices such as permaculture and recycling. Creation of Permaculture Gardens: Students were involved in creating sustainable gardens at participating schools, where they learned about eco-friendly farming and the importance of biodiversity. Development of Educational Materials: We produced the "Environmental Awareness and Management" booklet, which included guidelines on environmental issues, recycling, and sustainable development. This resource was made accessible to schools and educators for integration into curricula. Student and Teacher Mobility: We facilitated learning mobility events across the partner countries, where teachers and students participated in activities focused on environmental education. Dissemination and Community Engagement: We shared project results through social media, school websites, and local events, promoting environmental awareness to a wider community.

Impact

Our project produced significant results, promoting environmental awareness and sustainability through permaculture and waste management education. Each partner institution created mini permaculture areas, which served as educational tools, fostering community and environmental responsibility. The booklet was developed information on environmental pollution, waste management, permaculture and carbon footprint. Content, details on LTT activities, permaculture garden creation were included. The booklet featured visual events for interactivity and was digitized and shared online. The project improved students' social and linguistic skills, providing valuable knowledge, experience in environmental education. It increased the visibility of participating schools, making them attractive for their innovative practices. Collaboration among partners fostered a common European intercultural understanding. The project actively involved disadvantaged and special education students, ensuring their inclusion. Mobility activities offered students international gardening & environmental awareness experiences. The project met its goals, producing tangible results, enhancing participants' understanding and commitment to environmental sustainability.
