In the wake of the mass immigration of Ukrainian refugees in Poland, where they attend schools, we wished to explore the opportunities of European mobility within the Erasmus+ programme between France and Poland. As first time applicants, together with a Polish partner school we aimed to offer them a creative and inclusive pedagogical approach to languages, notably through cinematographic analysis and the elements of journalism, for them to develop a sense of engagement and belonging.

The activities put in place throughout this project were as follows: - Workshops with a film director of how to write a scenario - Writing workshops of three scenarios, casting (actors, directors, editors...), - Role-playing workshops, choice of costumes, choice of filming locations - Visit of The Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork, stained glass window workshop, medieval architecture workshop - Shooting of short films in the Castle - Poster and film editing workshop - Promotion of the project (displaying posters in both high schools and in the city, gala evenings in both schools) - Visits of key medieval monuments (including UNESCO heritage) in Malbork and Gdansk à rajouter en 2024.

The activities implemented in this project led to two final tasks : one, a short film shot in The Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork (Poland) in April 2023 and the other one, a collaborative school magazine, written by the students in April 2024 in France. The students worked beforehand on how to write a scenario and a press article. These tasks are not only a tangible sign of their engagement and communication skills but the memories of the project will stay with them forever.
