Objectives

The project aimed to achieve several objectives: Support Digital Transformation: Develop digital pedagogy tools and innovative learning approaches to support the digital transformation in early childhood and primary education. Promote STEM Interest: Introduce coding skills to children aged 5-12 through creative learning resources to foster interest and excellence in STEM fields. Establish Collaboration: Establish international and cross-sector collaboration to create comprehensive educational resources. Address Gender Disparities: Make the project appealing to young girls and promote gender equality in STEM education to address gender disparities. Overall, the project aimed to modernize education, particularly in STEM fields, and ensure that children are equipped with essential skills for the digital age.

Activities

Project Management & Coordination: Ensuring effective coordination among international partners, overseeing project progress, and managing resources to achieve project objectives. Multiplier Events: Organizing events to disseminate project outcomes and engage stakeholders, promoting the use of the educational resource developed. Development of Open Educational Resource (OER): Collaboratively creating a multilingual educational game-based Android app aimed at fostering STEM skills and promoting excellence among children aged 5-12. Training Activity for Educators: Conducting a 3-day short-term joint staff training event focused on the development, usability, and reusability of the OER. This training involved 11 relevant staff members from partner organizations and associated stakeholders, ensuring they were equipped to effectively utilize the educational resource in their respective contexts.

Impact

Development of Coding Kids! Android app: A tangible outcome is the creation of the Coding Kids! app, enhancing coding & STEM learning for children aged 5-12 through digital technology and game-based methodology. Motivation of Partner Staff for STEM: At least 12 staff from partner organizations were motivated to promote STEM education, reflecting a commitment to advancing STEM initiatives. Expansion of Network & reputation: The project established an international consortium, expanding collaboration & positioning the organization as a hub for educational innovation. Dissemination of Expertise & Knowledge: Expertise in STEM education and digital transformation was shared, advancing educational practices & fostering interest in STEM subjects. Introduction of Innovative Learning Methods: Innovative learning methods rooted in competency-based education, particularly in STEM, were successfully implemented to enhance engagement & effectiveness. Enhanced Interest in STEM Subjects: The Coding Kids! cultivates early interest in STEM, sparking curiosity & encouraging exploration of coding skills. Contributions to Digital Transformation:We supported educators in adapting to the digital age, contributing to ongoing digital transformation
