▶Objectives
The project aimed to achieve the dissemination of training in two different directions as its main objective: - through the exchange of skills between the two partners participating in the project, thanks to which it was possible to create an innovative tool for social inclusion between people of different cultures and ethnic groups. - Through the involvement of foreign communities present in the Agro-Pontino area, who participated in the practical training courses of Lindy hop dance. The promotion of common activities that can be shared equally by people from different ethnicities and cultures was one of the first steps to build collaboration and dialogue. In the chosen intervention area, training activities shared by different ethnic communities have never been organised. Through the project, a new innovative model of social inclusion has been created, repeatable in other areas.
▶Activities
First of all, the activity of coordinating the activity to build paths of dialogue and sharing, to guarantee the participation of the partners in the various phases of the project. Furthermore, theoretical training on the history of jazz/swing music was carried out, which took place in Ireland for this purpose to provide basic notions on the culture of dance, in particular lindy hop, and its historical function of inclusion; skills and techniques were provided on how to make art a tool for training and dialogue between different peoples. An e-learning was created on dance events, on the history of jazz music and Lindy hop dance, used as a tool for social inclusion, published on the partners' website, thus allowing free access available to all. A practical dance training activity was then carried out in Italy in which local foreign communities also participated, culminating in the creation of a practical video lesson; finally, the partners have implemented a massive promotion campaign on their social channels, to spread the project widely.
▶Impact
With theoretical training in Ireland, 6 people who were members of the two partner associations of the project were trained on the history of lindy hop and jazz music and on the use of dance/lindy hop as a tool for inclusion; with the practical training carried out in Italy, the basics of lindy hop were taught both to the members of the partner association (3 participants) and to the local foreign community present in the municipality of Terracina/Agropontino, as a result of which it was also produced a video lesson of the practice taught; finally, with e-learning, published on the partners' websites, it was explained how to make a dance event inclusive, how to use dance as a means of inclusion and how lindy hop and jazz music in the past were tools of inclusion social.
