The project aims to enhance knowledge and awareness of wildfire risks in European forests through education, research, and community engagement. It focuses on the following objectives: Research and Data Collection - Conduct comprehensive studies on wildfire occurrences, causes, and effects in different European regions. Analyze historical data and climate patterns influencing forest fires. Curriculum Development - Create educational materials and resources for use in schools and community workshops focusing on fire prevention, forest management, and environmental sustainability. Develop online learning modules that can be accessed by educators and students across Europe. Community Engagement and Training - Promote best practices in forest management and fire prevention strategies. International Collaboration - Foster partnerships among schools, research institutions, and local authorities across Europe to share knowledge and strategies for wildfire management. Collaborate with environmental NGOs to amplify outreach efforts.
▶Activities
The project wanted to increase awareness and understanding of wildfire risks and prevention among students and local communities, to develop a strong experience for educators and forest managers and to cooperate between institutions and stakeholders across Europe in wildfire risk management. A set of policy recommendations for local and national governments on effective wildfire management practices.
